Jim Herndon, PA-C
Jim is a graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Medicine Physician Assistant program in 2002. Currently Jim and his wife Josie are the Co – Founders of Addiction Therapeutic Services an Intensive Outpatient Program, in Rancho Mirage California. He currently provides medical services at three local substance abuse treatment center’s Benchmark Transitions; ABC Recovery Center and I Recover. Jim started working in the field of addiction medicine at The Betty Ford Center in 2002 – Jim joined the Staff at Achieve TMS in 2016 continuing his work in Addiction Medicine and Psychiatry.
In 2008 Jim became assistant Medical Director of ABC Recovery. His work there includes assisting the admissions and medical staff at ABC Recovery Center to ensure quality care for the clients. He was published in 2005 in the ASAM Journal of Addictive Diseases, having co-authored an abstract recognizing that Buprenorphine detoxification increases patient retention in treatment. This protocol has since become a nationally recognized model for opiate detoxification. Jim has been in recovery for the last 26 years. He has continued his work with alcoholics and addicts, accessing and treating their medical and psychiatric needs. Jim and Josie are presently opening Satori Center for Wellbeing in Rancho Mirage to offer Spiritual Consultations, Hyperbaric Medicine, Psychotherapy, Yoga, Reiki, and Chiropractic services to the local community.
