Dr. Sandra M. Firth, PhD
I was born and raised in Virginia. I first came to Southern California after joining American Airlines and being based in Los Angeles. During that time I visited Sun Valley Idaho to ski and fell in love with the area and said that someday I would live there. During the time I flew for American I attended a Junior College. When I decided to go on with my education I applied and was accepted into Boise State University and moved to Idaho. I attended the University and taught skiing in Sun Valley on the weekends.
After graduating Boise State with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology I continued my Graduate Work in Minnesota. I returned to Idaho and taught adolescent Psychology at Boise State for a year and then was accepted into a Post Graduate program with Deer Oaks Mental Health Center in Texas. There I gained experience with Children, Adolescents, Adults and the Geriatric populations. After my year in Texas I sought Licensure in California and Idaho. I decided to return to California where I practiced from 2001 until 2006 and again in 2006 returned to Idaho where I practiced until returning to the Desert this year where I can be much warmer than in Idaho.
I love the outdoors both winter and summer sports and my animals. I like to cook and entertain and love being around people. My diverse life starting with the airline and the other vocations I have enjoyed has given me the life experiences to enhance my education as a Psychologist. I love working with Patients and helping them learn how to navigate through the road of life. I am well versed in ADHD, all mood disorder and have a positive history of treating bipolar disorder. I treat patients from age 3 up with behavioral modification and cognitive behavioral therapy.
