Dr. Allen is a psychiatrist completing his final year of training at the University of California- San Diego. At the University of California- San Diego he currently serves as chief resident of the inpatient psychiatric unit at the VA- San Diego Medical Center.
Dr. Allen’s treatment philosophy centers around learning about all the unique facets of an individual during their treatment. This is important not only to ensure the proper diagnosis, but to also address how a patient’s symptoms are impacting their functioning in various areas (social, relationships, school/work, financial etc.) and then ensure these are addressed and ultimately improved upon throughout a patient’s treatment course.
In his spare time, Dr. Allen enjoys travelling, taking spin classes and playing with his Golden Retriever.
