Amber Monroe, LPCC, MFT
Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage Family Therapist
Amber is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 17 years of experience in the field of mental health. She specializes in working with eating disorders such as binge eating, bulimia and anorexia. These symptoms become a way to distract from our fears and unmet needs. Over time individuals can become lost in the ruminating thoughts of body image, calories, weight, clean eating and exercise.
Amber has a passion for helping individuals and group members increase their healthy coping skills as they slowly remove power from their eating disorder. In addition, she has extensive experience counseling individuals with depression and anxiety that can lead to debilitating symptoms such as panic, obsessive thoughts, isolation and codependency.
Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings and populations. i.e. teen group homes, foster/adoption agencies, residential eating disorder facilities, psychiatric hospitals, regional centers, crisis houses and Kaiser psychiatry.
Amber received her Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and her Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
